a. Cement tooth interface
b. Cement prosthesis interface
c. Cleavage through the cement layer
d. Fracture of tooth or prosthesis

Failure of Zinc phosphate cement occurs at cement -tooth interface
Failure of Zinc poly carboxylate cement occurs usually at cement-metal (prosthesis) interface.
