A syringe with 25 gauge needle is then penetrated parallel to the occlusal plane of the mandibular teeth from theopposite side of the mouth, at a level bisecting the finger or thumbnail, penetrating the tissues of the pterygo-temporal depression, and entering the pterygomandibular space.
