Juvenile Periodontitis is due to?
A. Definite genetic disease
B. Immunological defect
C. Neutrophil chemotactic defect
D. Neutrophil adhesion defect
"Most recent studies by Newman have shown that the lesion of Juvenile Periodontitis is associated with the presence of subgingival plaque which is loosely attached to the root surface of involved teeth. Bacteriological evaluation of the plaque revealed the presence of sparse microbiota in which", gram-negative capnophilic and anerobic rods predominate. There is also evidence that the host defence seems to be impaired in the individuals with juvenile periodontitis. Clark and collegues demonstrated that patient with the disease frequently show Defective Neutrophilic chemotactic Response. In addition serum from several patients examined contained a factor which markedly
inhibited neutrophil chemotaxis."
